  We used to come from Winnipeg, to this restaurant often. The food was the best and the prices were excellent. We stopped coming because of the former owners. We gave the new owner a chance and for the most part everything was fine. We have been there twice in the last month but will not be coming back. The portions are awesome as are the prices but especially Friday night, I did not enjoy anything about the meal which was, btw my birthday celebration. The porkchops were so thin and dry with more breading and onions than I have ever seen on a plate at one time, the mashed potatoes required salt and and there were maybe 2 mouthfuls of applesauce, if that. I had strawberry shortcake with 2 strawberry halves on it. I had to bring it home to add some strawberry sauce so it could taste like strawberry shortcake. I loved the coffee but we were not asked if we wanted any more. It's really too bad but to drive all that way just to be disappointed, especially on an important occasion is just not worth the trip.

  This is the only place I have eaten at when going to Selkirk. I have enjoyed it every time. The mushroom Swiss burger is great. Tasty fries. If you feel like dessert they have some great options and the portions are huge. I would say you could go here just for the dessert and be full.
